More of Best Podcasts
It's time for part two of my list for the Best Podcasts. It's really great that there are available podcasts that are free for the public to listen and watch. Let's just go straight to the list.
For the Cocoa (Objective C) Programmer (Video and Audio)
CocoaCast Clear HQ Quality Videos of Cocoa that covers programming for the iPhone, the many Objective C classes, working with User Interface Controls in Interface Builder, and XCode tips and tricks. This is a really great resource for the budding iPhone developer or just someone looking to understand how Objective C works. This podcast is updated about twice a month with the average length of each podcast up to 30 minutes.
For the Mathematician (Audio)
The Math Factor Math conversations and puzzles permeate throughout this podcast. It reminds me of NPR's weekend edition: Sunday Puzzle segment, except it's all about Math. Broadcasting out of KUAF 91.3 FM Fayetteville, Arkansas, each podcast is about 6-10 minutes in length and is updated weekly. Definitely worth checking out.
For .NET Developers (Audio)
Polymorphic Podcast This is the only .NET podcast of its kind that covers .NET, .NET controls and web parts, programming methodologies, and interviews. Excellent audio quality and lengthy averaging up to 40 minutes for each podcast. Last update was from 12/02/08. Looking forward to new podcasts as I am interested in .NET development.
For Pythonistas (Audio)
PyCon 2007 I would not call this a traditional podcast since each podcast episode covers all 16 topics discussed at the Python Convention 2007 held in Dallas, Texas. However, the content covered in these audio casts are really useful, Unit Testing, Web Application Development, SQLAlchemy, definitely worth a listen if you are looking to beef up your Python knowledge
For the Job Searcher (Audio)
Secrets of the Job Hunt This is an excellent podcast for its wide range of topics in the area of job searching. Words cannot describe how much this podcast has helped me regain focus in searching for that elusive web development job. Each podcast is about 15 minutes in length is updated about once a week. Highly recommended
For the Cocoa (Objective C) Programmer (Video) again
HotCocoa Just a quick mention about this podcast, this one is a good resource as well, good video quality Free, and cover Cocoa programming through XCode. Not as long as CocoaCast but just as good as it takes the viewer through the building of a Twitter App for the iPhone
For the Video Gamer (Video)
XPlay Without a doubt, one of the best, most informative, and most entertaining podcast on video games, XPlay is one of the best shows on TV and offers up game reviews, interviews, and funny skits. This podcast is updated daily and is about 3 minutes in length. The whole show is not podcast unfortunately, to watch the whole show, Call your cable service provider to request G4TV Also of note, the podcast has an archive from earlier years which is great when you come across a bargain bin game at Gamestop.
